What is a value network?

The value network comprises individuals working in the organization, the positions within the organization, or a combination of both. The network can be represented as a graphical illustration that shows the social and technical resources within the organization and how they are utilized to benefit the organization.

What is an external value network?

External networks may include business intermediaries, customers, business partners, stakeholders, open innovation networks, and networks. The participants in the external value network must benefit from the interactions with other people in the network. If one participant does not benefit, the rest of the network will be affected.

What are the nodes in a value network?

The nodes in a value network represent people (or roles). The nodes are connected by interactions that represent tangible and intangible deliverables. These deliverables take the form of knowledge or other intangibles and/or financial value. Value networks exhibit interdependence.

What are Christensen's value networks?

Christensen's value networks address the relation between a company and its suppliers and the requirements posed by the customers, and how these interact when defining what represents value in the product that is produced.
